As the price of gas continues to soar, consumers are looking for a remedy for the hurt their wallets are feeling these days. Eco-conscious people continue to seek better mileage for the sake of the planet as well. Unfortunately, most of the best cost-efficient, gas-efficient, and eco-friendly models out there cost an arm and a leg. It’s nice that celebrities can afford an electric car, for example, but most of us certainly cannot. I know I wouldn’t even be approved for a loan for such a car these days, myself!
But the folks over at the Daily Green have come up with a good solution to this problem. They recently published a handy list of the most fuel efficient, affordable cars available right now. The most affordable car on the list is a 2011 Hyundai Accent, which gets 30 miles to the gallon and costs just under $10,000. Also included on the list are the 2011 Kia Rio, the cute 2011 Smart Fortwo Coupe (which looks like it came off the set of the latest Cards movie), and the 2011 Toyota Yaris. Many other models are also included, most of them not much more than the Hyundai Accent. Be sure to consult the list if you’re in the market for a new vehicle this year.
