Probably not a scam, I've seen the infomercial. But go for the DVD player!! Once you go DVD you'll never watch VHS again! Just stay away from off brand electronics because you get what you pay for. Plus remember that in 2006 the government has mandated that broadcasts be in HDTV so any TV/Video stuff you buy I would make sure it has all of the inputs and outputs to keep you in the game when HDTV is prevolent. I say this because you can by a progressive scan DVD player now which will take advantage of the HD television set's picture quality if and when you buy an HDTV.

Get him a DVD player. I am a mechanical engineer working in fuel injection systems development. I have quite a bit of dyno experience in developing and tuning intake systems for four stroke engines and the tornado seems more prone to impinging fuel out of the intake charge and onto the walls of the induction system than it does providing a more homogeneous mix to the cylinder. Of course these things tend to be very application specific depending on intake geometry, but I can't imagine he'll see significant gains. A DVD player will probably provide you with more "quality time" anyway. That's my two cents. Take it for what its worth.
Does it work?
