  • 97 S-10 clutch problem

I have a 97 S-10. Got in this morning tried to put it in gear and clutch pedal went to the floor. Checked fluid level which was low. Added fluid and clutch worked but just barely. Stopped again later to check fluid level since pedal was still almost going to the floor and level was OK. Could this be a slow leak... need to bleed system or is this a major problem (pressure plate).

I own a '94 Chevy Caprice that had a sudden malfunction with the headlights. Only the low beams will not work. I checked the fuses and they were ok.I checked a wiring diagram and it seems that if the switch was bad that the other lights tied to the same circuit would not work either. Could the high beam switch cause the low beams not to work?

  • Need help diagnosing problem with 97 Camry

My 97 Toyota Camry makes a whine when i start it cold. It sounds just like when a power steering pump is going out, only it goes away as soon as the engine is warm, instead of whining when i turn like a typical pump that's about to go. I can't tell what's making the noise as the power steering pump, and the alternater and who knows what else is all right on top of eachother and on the same belt.
Also the car seems to get hot faster than it should....i mean it doesnt get "hot" just to the middle of the heat gauge, but it does it almost right away, and if i go to check the oil or anything the top of the radiator feels VERY hot. I never had a car like that, but i assume it could be normal as it does'nt ever overheat. (of course i checked the water level)
Also I've noticed a wierd rattle when i go over bumps....it's like if you had a shoe in a plastic box and you shook it. Very strange......it's coming from either side of the engine compartment, or just over or behind the front wheels...i can't tell.
    Can anyone help me?

  • Timing chain cover

My husband has a '93 Olds Achieva, 3.3L engine, automatic. He is trying to make his own repairs using the Hayes manual. He is also using the Chilton manuals but is totally stumped on this particular matter:

How do you remove the cover that is front of the timing chain (crankshaft balancer)? According to the manuals, he should be able to manipulate the cover by hand. He's tried that and he's tried using a breaker bar without success.

He can not find any pictures or more detailed explanations in any of the repair manuals. If you know, please help!

    Thank you.

Bad leak in trunk, inside, back left corner it appears. Thing is, it's wet under rubber-backed carpet, not on top. Left rear well gets filled with water on heavy rain day, even when car has not been driven at all. Cannot figure it out. Any clues? Thanks.

  • Oil leak?

I have a 1994 Subaru Legacy Wagon, and have noticed that I have been losing oil (about a quart every two weeks- more or less depending on distance driven. I drove three hours last weekend and when I got to my destination and shut the car off I noticed that there was smoke (smelled like hot oil) coming from under the hood, although I could not pinpoint the exact location. This morning (while idling) smoke was coming out from underneath the car (again smelling like oil). Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this?

  • Hyundai to Allow Financially Troubled Owners to Return Vehicles

    Add Comment

Just when you thought that car deals and warranties could not possibly get any better, think again folks! Could you imagine if there was a car warranty that offered you a means to return a vehicle that you just signed a loan for within one year of the purchase with no questions asked? So you just ran out and bought that brand spanking new car and then all of sudden you find yourself holding a pink slip at your once stable job. Now you have to worry about juggling all of your bills, especially the bill for the new car that you just purchased. But wait, now Hyundai is offering a buyer protection plan that in the event that you do lose your job, you can simply just return the car, no questions asked. No bill due. No harm to your credit.

I have a 94 Mercury Grand Marquis and when i lift my foot off the gas to slow down the car sometimes grabs like I am riding over the rough patches on the shoulder of the road. Would this be a transmissiion problem, a break problem or something else? My mechanic says it doesn't happen when he test drives the car but many people riding with me experience it. Thank you.

I have a 1991 Explorer with a 4.0 that is giving me fits. Its has 150k on it. Its running very rich. I have done a diagostic on it with a handheld code reader. It came back with the oxygen sensor on the left side and the Engine Temperature Control(ETC) sensor. I have replaced both to no avail. I've even replaced all the plug, wires, ignition coil pack, PCV, and Mass Airflow Sensor. I'm lost on this one. If you can help, I would be very greatful.
