  • 1990 toyota 4- runner anti theft lug nuts

I just bought a used 4-runner. It has after market rims on it. The problem I have is it has those anti theft lug nuts on it,But the car came from auction and the special lug nut wrench made to remove those security lug nuts is not any where to be found. How can I find a wrench to remove them? Or is there a way to get them off without one? I'll just put regular lug nuts on if I can get these off.

I have a squeaky fan belt. I put belt dressing on it and it got worse. I read somewhere that brake fluid will remove the squeak because it penetrates and softens the belt. Any recommendations

Turned off my car heater yesterday and it stays off. I don't seem to have a fuse for it and fuses all look ok. Why would it do that? Possibly the off switch is broken but it seems to move okay. Didn't have any problems when I turned it off - did not have to force it. Just curious.

  • Re: Car Shakes at high speeds, and brake pedal shakes when i push it to stop

I have a '93 Pontiac Grand Am, about 130,000 miles. When im driving on the highway and reach about 65-70mph my car shakes violently, it shakes alot more when i turn to the right, and when i turn to the left it doesnt shake as much.
Also, when i push the brake pedal the pedal and the car shakes, the faster i go and push the brakes the harder the pedal and car will shake. When im pulling up to a Red light at slow speeds i push the brakes and it feels like there a lump or something on the brake pad and everytime it like goes over it the pedal shakes and the car kinda jerks. Please Help :)

  • Honda Civic LX - Overheating

I have a '94 Honda Civic with 165K miles. It starts to overheat when driving but when then the gauge goes down when stopped. All fluids have been topped off and the thermostat replaced, but still does it. Non-Honda dealer said that they think the head ga$ket could have problems and is plugging up the combustion chamber not allowing the coolant to flow through the engine. I asked about the radiator, but no response. Am I getting my chain yanked or could this be a legitimate explanation for what is going on? I've never had problems with the car in the past and it's been running perfectly fine until today. HELP!!! I can't afford a new car!

  • knocking 99 ram

We have a 99 Ram with a 5.2. It has always knocked, since about 25k miles. We have replaced the PCV twice, and had the ignition software updated. After getting the first pcv replaced, it worked fine for a month or two, then started knocking again. We ahd the siftware updated, and it was fine for a few months. After that, it pinged like hell, almost constantly. We then had the PCV and ignition replaced again, and it seems OK after 2 months. There is still an occasional loud "TICK" from the engine under heavy load. Should we look at the EGR system, or what else?

  • Tornado Fuel Saver or Super FuelMax?

I saw some commertials on those two items(Tornado Fuel Saver and Super Fuelmax), and they probably increase a fuel economy, but I don't know if there is true or not. Is there anybody who used one of those items? Does it really work? If so, can I use both of these at the same time?
    Thanks for your help.

  • brakes for an 88 prelude

i need new brakes and it is really bad, but including new rotors and everything, the estimate was worth more than the car. i am trying to sell this car, but it's not worth it for me to fix the brakes before i sell it if it's going to cost a bundle. so if any experts or commoners would like to tell me where to get the best deal on fixing breaks in the southwest michigan area, it would be ever so helpful.....thanks

  • annoying belts

My 95 eclipse has less than 70k miles on it and is on its 4th or 5th set of belts. I have to replace them because they "squeal" very loudly, usually for no apparent reason. My mechanic says they aren't loose, the only way to fix them is to change the belts. What is wrong, can I change the pulley system. It's really embarrassing to have a clean, well running care that can be heard a mile away, HELP!!!

  • Re: Nissan Sunny battery drain

Can anybody help - I am finding that there is a slight drain (about 100ma) on the battery even when all the fuses are out - sometimes i don't use the car for weeks on end so it can be a problem. I have found that disconnecting the outer lead (1 of 3 ) from the pos battery terminal solves the problem - and when i re-connect it i can hear a relay clicking in somewhere near the headlamps - this may be the auto choke relay but i don't know for sure . Does anybody know if this drain is normal or if i can cure it . My best idea so far is to put in a switch for the lead mentioned - but it's still a bit of a pain. Any replies gratefully received.
    Best regards
