Ford Probe Audio

A friend of mine has a 97 Probe with the stock stereo and there is a strange hum that goes in and out when the stereo is on.Is it a bad wire connection or something more, can anyone help?

does it only do it when the engine is running? If so you need a noise filter, you can get one from best buy, circuit city or any electronics store like that
